Since 2017, the Balexert 20km de Genève and the Breast Cancer Network have joined forces to support women with breast cancer.
Breast cancer touches 1 woman in 8. In the Canton of Geneva alone, each year over 450 women receive a diagnosis of breast cancer. Around 8,000 women confronted to breast cancer live in our canton. Together with their family and loved ones, they represent more than 15% of the population. Thanks to therapeutic progress, survival rate is high, but the adverse effects of treatments continue to affect women concerned for many years. Moreover, breast cancer is a life changing disease. It can have a significant impact on different areas of private, social and professional life.
The Breast Cancer Network and the Association Savoir Patient - a non-profit public interest NGO - federate patients, researchers and the medical community to implement programs and services for a better care and quality of life.

The mission that the Breast Cancer Network has been pursuing for 20 years is still relevant today. Bringing together patients, health and social professionals as well as researchers, it seeks to reduce the impact of breast cancer and its treatments on the lives of women and their loved ones. To date, it brings together 30 member organizations, all related to breast cancer and working on the Lake Geneva region. It is hosted by the Association Savoir Patient, a not-for-profit NGO of public interest based in Geneva, which offers free services to patients.
